Our Story
At Become a Man Without a Man Inc. (BMWM), we believe that every young man deserves the chance to rise—no matter where he starts.
Founded by Navy veteran Reginald F. Buggs, BMWM was born from his personal story of struggle, redemption, and purpose. Raised in a turbulent environment and without a consistent male role model, Reginald dropped out of high school at 16. But through faith, determination, and the structure of military life, he turned his life around—earning his GED, serving 28 years in the Navy, and pursuing higher education in sociology and business.
Today, he’s using his story to change the stories of others.
Why We Exist
Too many young men in the Tidewater, Virginia area are growing up without the mentorship and support they need to thrive. That’s where we come in.
BMWM is a community-driven mentoring program built to guide at-risk youth through life’s challenges, helping them build confidence, character, and direction. We focus on emotional growth, leadership skills, education, and accountability—tools every young man needs to succeed.

What We Do
We create safe, empowering spaces for boys ages 13–17 to learn, grow, and dream. Through one-on-one mentoring, group workshops, career readiness training, and leadership development, we help our youth build the confidence and skills they need to become responsible, purpose-driven men.
Building a Legacy
Our Team
This isn’t just a program—it’s a movement. BMWM is creating a ripple effect of change in homes, neighborhoods, and communities. And we’re just getting started.
Join us as we continue to shape a generation of young men into leaders, visionaries, and men of honor—no matter where they begin.
Led by Reginald and powered by a devoted team of veterans and community leaders, BMWM is fueled by lived experience and a deep commitment to service. Our mentors have walked similar roads and now serve as powerful role models, showing young men what’s possible with the right guidance and grit.
